I just placed them on a USB drive formatted with FAT32 (nothing else but the two files on the root) started up the truck and checked for an update.

I found how to manually download the 17TDT2NA-DA30_0006.kwi file (hint: || 17TDT2NA-DA30_0006.kwi) // doesn't work for the files referenced below, or navigation based on my attempts. My HU was running stock, never updated 10. Looking at the Toyota Firmware Update site referenced previously, for my model/year returned no results/no update. No real reason other than, I felt like there should be some software updates seeing as I bought a generation 1 head unit (in the sense, first to have apple CarPlay), and every time I check it says it's up-to-date (lies!)
